The city received its name "Tbilisi" meaning “a warm place” The hot season lasts for 6 months from May to October, with an average daily high temperature above 79°F. The coldest month of the year is January, with an average high of 61°F and low of 30°F.

2017-2018 Georgia became one of most preferred destination for medical students from India published in the “Words/Opinions of Students why they selected Georgia instead of any other country for medical education”. Specific reasons cited are:
  • WHO, UNESCO, ECFMG & MCI recognized Universities | One of Highest Passing Rate in MCI Screening Test (FMGE) in India.
  • High Quality of Medical Education at affordable cost.
  • No Entrance or Admission test is required.
  • No Exams in between the course (unlike Ukraine, Russia, China)
  • Medium of Instruction is English throughout the course (unlike Ukraine, Russia, China, Belarus) where it is bilingual; students have to study in Russian medium after the third year.
